If the answer is, "In order to be saved", then you need to think again.

If we had a thorn in the flesh, we would make sure everyone knew everything about it. True of you?

Suppose there had been no outpouring of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, what kind of Christianity would have faced the world? It would have been the kind found in John 20:19. The Day of Pentecost made a dramatic difference to the disciples - it turned them *from men of fear to men of fire*. Has it made a similar difference in you? If not, then pray now that God will give you your own personal Pentecost.

Jesus knew full well the temptation that would come to His disciples to think that they had been mistaken about His resurrection, so He appeared to them over a period of 40 days - thus building up the evidence and piling up the proof. Perhaps the most important, yet not widely recognised, fact about Joseph's tomb is that it wasn't a tomb at all; it was a room which the everlasting Christ used for a few nights on His way back to glory. As H.R.L. Sheppard put it: "It was inevitable that Christ should for; it was also inevitable Should rise again. _We could expect nothing less of God._"

The apostle Paul tells us that when Christ stood before Pontius Pilate, He "made the good confession" (I Timothy 6:13). What does that mean? This Christ would not allow the actions of Pilate to determine His. He acted, rather than reacted. He _resolved_ to remain silent. He _resolved_ to go on loving. When we act rather than react to life, then we do as Jesus did - we "make a good confession"

Have you ever realised that Jesus did not say, "I am the resurrection and the life" after He rose from the dead, but prior to it? What does this imply? It implies that Jesus was not the Resurrection because He rose from the dead, but He rose from the dead because He was the Resurrection.

G. Campbell Morgan points out that, according to Luke, Jesus did not go up the mountain to be transfigured - He went up to pray. Prayer was the goal, transfiguration the result.
